I am hoping to major in nursing and was wondering about the top or a little below that nursing programs. I know Clemson has an excellent program. What other schools should I be looking at for nursing?
There are a LOT of very good programs. What is your budget? Where do you live? What year are you in? What is your GPA and SAT? Do you have some experience volunteering in an appropriate medical situation?
No experience yet but I am applying to volunteer at hospitals. GPA is 4.76 never took sat for real yet bc Im a junior but I took practice tests which was around 1240. I live in Florida. Class of 2019 @DadTwoGirls
I have noticed that you have other threads that are pretty much redundant with this one.
You should first look at your in-state public options. Where I live (in New England, so not anywhere near Florida) the in-state public schools have very good nursing programs. I have had some interactions with nurses who had graduated from several different in-state public universities either in my state or immediately adjacent states, and have been very happy with the care provided by all of them.
Nursing programs are generally not easy to get into. You need a strong GPA and SAT. However, while I don’t know how your high school computes weighted GPA, nonetheless your stats look to me as if you probably have quite a good chance at admission.
Volunteering at hospitals is a very good idea.
