Hello! I have heard of these "SAT subject tests" recently, but I'm not sure what exactly they are like. I got a 2220 on my SAT and am looking to bolster my scores profile to get into colleges such as USC with some level of scholarship. What are these, will taking them help me get merit aid at places like USC, and if so what scores would I need? Thanks!

SAT subject tests are about an hour each and test your knowledge in a particular subject such as math, history, physics, etc. Some colleges, e.g., all the ivies, require two in addition to your SAT for you to even be considered for admission. A number, like USC, recommend but do not require two and good scores can help you get admitted. They are usually not used to determine scholarships and that includes USC.
