What are the chances for an international student not requiring financial aid

So I know Stanford is not need blind to international students requiring financial aid, so say I do not require financial aid, how much would it be in my favour?

Of course I know the admission decision is not solely based on financial aid but for international students, I heard it pulled quite a bit of weight.

It probably helps you a little bit. At least it doesn’t hurt you. But Stanford is rich enough ($17 billion endowment) to not really care too much…

Stanford gets plenty highly qualified international applicants who also don’t require FA. It may help a tiny bit - but that’s about it. On the other hand, it DOES help quite a bit in slightly lower tier (but still excellent) schools.

Just curious – are you a 2015 applicant? and if so, did you get an email from the stanford admissions office confirming that you do NOT need finaid? I’m just wondering if everyone got it, or if i should read something into it :)

^i didn’t… :frowning: (international who applied for FA, but i don’t really need it)

No I’m a 2016 applicant so I’m assuming from your comment, I wouldn’t get financial aid even if I did apply for it.

Thanks for your help everyone.

No that’s not what i meant. Sorry if my post was ambiguous. I believe if you say you need finaid you are considered for finaid, though Stanford is not need blind.

^I meant “not need blind for internationals”.
