I applied for finaid, but don't need it anymore

In my application, I indicated that I will apply for financial aid, but I've changed my mind. As international applicant, requiring finaid will severely impact my chances and since I can afford Stanford without finaid anyway, I've decided it's in my best interest not to apply for finaid. Does anyone know how I'm supposed to tell them this?

Thanks.

maybe you can afford one year, but can you afford ALL FOUR YEARS with tuition rising annually? I'm not sure if you considered this already...

as for your question. I dont know. contact financial aid office, maybe?

If you don't need fin aid, it will improve your chances - so yes, you should tell them.

But are you sure you have the $200.000+ to pay for your Stanford education? Do your parents think so too?

Just call them and let them know.
It will improve your chances? I don't know about that.

Not needing financial won't improve my chances, but needing it will decrease my chances.

just to clarify -- this is for international students only because their admissions are not need-blind like it is for US students

"Not needing financial won't improve my chances, but needing it will decrease my chances."

That makes no sense. You said not needing finaid will improve your chances; then you say that needing it WILL; so if you were no longer to need it, your chances would go up; thus, not needing finaid improves your chances. =)

"just to clarify -- this is for international students only because their admissions are not need-blind like it is for US students"

thanks for that, KnightMair. I was starting to get worried. =)

Ummmm, how about if I wish to request for aid now though i didn't indicate so on my application?

I am an "international" applicant. Hence, if I don't apply apply for financial my chances amongst the "international pool" only, will improve. However, compared to those of the domestic pool, my chances are no better, no worse.
