What are the chances for my daughter to get into MS in Aerospace Engineering at UT, Arlington? [2.9 college GPA, 291 GRE]

My daughter has 2.9 GPA in Bachelors and got 291 in GRE. What are the chances of getting into MS in Aerospace at UTA? If not this college, please suggest us know of any colleges with better chances.

What’s the gpa the last two years ?

You can apply and see.

Where is her undergrad. Why not get a job instead ?

Successful applicants to the Engineering Management Master of Science program typically have a bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or science with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 credits of their bachelor’s program.

For unconditional (not necessarily guaranteed) admission, the student needs at least a 3.0 GPA and 146+155 GRE score. Even for probationary admission, the student does not appear to meet the criteria. The student appears to have neither, so chances look low even before considering whether the student’s undergraduate course work is sufficient preparation.

Where did she do her undergrad? If within the US, sub 3.0 GPAs generally have low chance but an international student might have a better chance depending on what the GPA equivalency looks like. Does her transcript have a 4.0 scale GPA or did you do this conversion?

UT Austin is a very competitive application process. Is there a story about why the undergrad GPA is low? Pandemic related? What is the GPA for engineering specific classes?

Arlington, not Austin.
