What are the chances of getting accepted to Michigan State

I have a 3.1 GPA and a 27 on my ACT. I transferred from a public school to a well known college prep school my junior year which is why my GPA is much lower my junior year which overall affected my cumulative. I’m an out of state applicant from Wisconsin and MSU is my #1 choice. I participated in sports my freshman and sophomore year, theater my freshman year and Best Buddies all four years. I was also on student council freshman and sophomore and the Student Auction team and a part of Criminal Justice Club my junior and senior year.

I also want to major in Criminal Justice. I don’t know if that makes a difference. I’ve also taken 3 honors courses, 2 AP’s, and one accelerated.

Youre fine. My daughter was admitted with a 3.19 uw; 3,7 weighted and a 24 act; 1230 sat. Just make sure you have good extracurriculars and write a good essay.

You should be fine getting accepted. One very important recommendation I have for you is to start out at community college. I started out at Lansing CC before transferring to MSU, and saved around $40k in tuition and room & board. You’d also be grateful because some of the core classes you’d take if you went straight to MSU are super difficult, so your GPA won’t be affected.
