What are the labs like?

For anyone who is a science major/taken science courses, can you describe the labs at UChicago?

I am currently taking the second quarter of NatSci (fullfills both the physci and bio reqs.), and our labs are in the observatory we have on campus - amazing when the sky is clear!!! The only downside is that, obviously, we have to do it at night.

Does anyone know how BIOS 10110's lab is?

Also, pertaining to every lab class:

How long are labs? I know schools ranging from 2 to 5 hours, and hopefully UChicago's lab courses lean toward the shorter side. Also, how long does it usually take to do lab writeups and in general, how long (in pages) are they?

Don't know about bio labs but S's physics labs last year were 4 hours in an afternoon (1:30 - 5:30) followed by an hour of physics discussion that night (7 - 8). There were also two 1.5 hour lecture classes per week. I believe o-chem is about the same.

ugh physics labs suck so much. they allot 4 hours but i usually finish in 2.5 tops.

don't take potions; double labs really blow
