I’ll be a freshman next year and I just signed up for ch109’s four hour lab. I was wondering if they are actually that long (it seems almost ridiculous) and do labs actually take four hours?? Do they let us out really early or am I just naive and I’ll actually be doing experiments for that long??

Yes, they really do go on for that long. There were one or two labs that went OVER.

But there are a few that are shorter....earliest we got out was like...2:45.

I'll be honest, chem at BU is a B****! i've never seen another school with 4 sections in one chemistry class. It's HARD.

Am I a nerd to be excited for this class/labs? lol.

Thanks for the info sprkl325!! And when you say "hard", do you mean just b/c there are so many sections or b/c they actually make the material hard????....just wondering cause you are making me really nervous now...

i took chem 101/102, and the avg on every exam was between a 45 and a 60. its hard. they dont like giving partial credit, and depending on your lab tf, he/she can suck and give you a hard time when they say lab is really supposed to "help" your grade. i pulled an a- with a lot of hard hard work, but a large percentage of the class got a c or lower. it all depends how hard you work and how you take to the material.

ali who did you have as ur professor? im taking chem 101/102 this year as well with Dill.

lol i had dill, but he does make all the tests...and id focus on lecture notes WAY more than the book or even the problems in the book
