college2332's list is very good...i agree 100%

cape cod community college is soooo preppy

Villanova and Emory come to mind.

i'd have to say the 2 that instinctively come to mind are Bard and Reed.

Usually rich conservative schools tend to be preppy (not that liberals are "immune" to this "disease").

Im from the south and Tulane nor LSU are preppy. They are sooo laid back.

so preppy=uptight?...

i smell some not-so-true assumptions.

as well as some not-so-funny attempts at being funny.
(see my previous post (#24) for details)

parentheses inside parentheses. is that an unprecendented move on CC?

[just nod and let me soak in my glory]

Princeton is the preppiest school ever. Did you know they get 20% at J.Crew if they show their Princeton ID? My friend's BF is going to Princeton and he doesn't live anywhere near NJ and gets discounts at every J.Crew store. So irritating.

BTW, what's wrong with prepiness? I actively looked for a preppy school because I think that it's important to take care of yourself and present yourself in an attractive way. It's just rude to other people to walk around looking hideous and unkempt. Personally I find it far more annoying to see somebody who hasn't brushed their hair or showered in three days walking around in a GAP t-shirt 2 sizes too big and dirty Adidas sneakers. I'd way rather see somebody in a wrinkle-free Lacoste with the collar up and clean, new Rainbows. Maybe that's just the Southerner in me talking, though. :)

Since when are Juicy and LV preppy?
Bless your heart, you are under a misconception.

damn... popped collars are so ****ing stupid.

nothing's wrong with being preppy. i just asked what schools u thought were the most preppy.

Did you know Audrey Hepburn started the popped collar? She wore it like that to many public events and premiers and in a lot of photo shoots. Rene Lacoste copied the look in his fashion shows on the runway, and it became quickly popular among the upper class. I come from a long line of collar poppers. No joke--my grandmother, at 75, still pops her collar.

At 51 my collar is still popped, but tell me what are "Rainbows?" .. also, Reed and Bard are preppy? You're kidding, right? Wouldn't that be like saying Antioch and Sarah Lawrence are preppy?

I dont understand why is popping your collar " so *ing stupid." What difference does it make? It's *ing stupid to make such a big deal out of clothing!

Rainbows are a very popular (and rather expensive) kind of sandal. http://www.rainbowsandals.com/

Reed is definitely NOT preppy. They're about as hippiedippy as they come. I would add Elon and University of Redlands to the preppy list.

YES, im kidding (and, as acknowledged, it was my bad attempt at doing so). as smart as the people on this sight are/claim-they-are, they can also be incredibly dense.

ive never hung around anyone (whom i consider) preppy who pops his collar. i have always associated a popped collar with cheesiness.

Its hard to pop a collar now, because they make them soft, not stiff, like they used to....woe is me.....
