What are these majors like? (Linguistics, International Studies, and Languages)

Hi! So im very interested in going to the University of Washington but I would really love to know how these specific majors are: Linguistics (and Romance Linguistics), International Studies (Particularly European or Asian Studies), and Languages (like Romance Languages or a specific language)
I would also love to know how the language classes in general are :) Im very interested Korean, French, Italian and/or Japanese.
Thanks!!

I am applying to UW as an Italian major and from what I have heard/read, the romance language department is great! The French and Italian departments are together, and the travel abroad programs are extremely popular. Some of the more advanced classes are taught in your intended majors language and I think that is the best way to learn a new language. I hope I get accepted to the UW!!! I have been waiting so long!

You can major in international study and pick a language as your minor. I did the same. Middle eastern studies in the Jackson School and studied Arabic. French is a bit hard, specifically the grammar. If you plan to take french, then plan on studying a lot, it may also consume most of your time. Also, not everyone gets the chance to study abroad. My brother studied Italian and he loved it and said it is not that hard.
