What are you doing the summer after graduation?

I've been debating what to do this upcoming summer. I'm sure I'll take an on-line course or two (mainly science- and math-related, as those are my weakest areas), but that still grants me a certain degree of flexibility and free time.

At first, I thought about an internship. I've heard, however, that internships before college are a waste of time and consist almost entirely of making coffee. And I'm not even good at making coffee. :P

The decision then comes down to the following options:
- summer program/camp
- travel (most likely China)
- job (but not anything like in a lab...it'd be waitressing, etc.)
- volunteering (I'd be interested in continuing my volunteer work at a local hospital)

Have I missed any options? What are you doing this summer?

I’ve been thinking too…I’m not sure.
I may apply for internships at NASA or the Air and Space Intern program, but I’m not sure…I need to decide soon/now. I also want to have free time since it’s the last real time I’ll easily be able to see my HS friends.

It’s the last summer I have with my high school friends, most of which I’ll probably never see again except at reunions, so I’m gonna spend the most amount of time with them that I can. Hanging out with my friends and family, and getting stuff for my dorm will pretty much be what’s gonna happen my whole summer. I’m not ready for the summer to come though. :(

I don’t see myself doing any sort of program; parents are spending enough on college! Also, yeah, this is the last summer I’ll be getting to see my friends as much as I do already, so I wanna spend tons of time with them. I’ll probably get most of my stuff for my dorm in my college’s state, because I’m moving literally across the country, so that won’t be till mid-August or so.

I was going to start college during the summer semester or do an internship but im spending my entire summer in south america which is 10x better than doing anything else.

I will have a paid internship in a lab. I did the same thing last year. I worked in a lab doing research.

When that’s over, I might go on a road trip w/ my best friend.

I’m probably going to Disney World… and if I can get any friends to go, then they’ll be going to.

All of my friends are going to Europe in June… so that looks like a boring month. I’ve been thinking about taking some classes, though I’ll be entering college with 6 credits anyways.

And I’ll probably be working in the law office with my dad learning the ins and outs of the business.

Might take some further math, physics, and chem courses.
I have no friends to hang with over the summer, so summer of 12 is looking to be boring.

Might get a lab internship, and just kick it.

Might go and help out my school’s robotics team, and prep the MUN kids.

I’m still a junior, but two of my friends and I are planning a road trip to California or New York. All but those two have really strict parents and can’t go. It’s quite sad

I am applying to clark scholar’s program after taking the SAT’s this saturday, applying to NIH internships, or going to Europe!

Hopefully, I get into clark scholar’s or NIH this summer. If i don’t, thats okay too! I’ve got Europe!
