I'm still a sophomore but let's assume my grades and projections are stellar. I have a 4.0 gpa unweighted and about 4.4 or above weighted. I'm taking 3 APs this year and I plan on taking about 7-8 APs junior and senior year. My extra-circulars to this point are basketball and a few random clubs. Hopefully I'll have an internship this summer but I'm not doing anything definitive. And my PSAT was 160 but I honestly didn't care about it because it wasn't a grade. I slept through parts..

Ask again when you have scores that you actually tried to earn. Hypotheticals are meaningless. And start thinking about your Extracurriculars as more than just “random clubs.” Random won’t get you very far.

I agree with WasatchWriter. Also, Harvard is pretty much a crapshoot for kids with near perfect resumes, and you have almost nothing real at this point. Schools like Harvard look for genuinely curious students that have strong interests outside of academics. Not to read too much into such a short paragraph, but nothing you said gives anything close to an impression of you having those characteristics. Hopefully that is wrong, but at least now you know what they are looking for and therefore what you should be doing to, at the very least, give that impression. The more genuine it is, the better your chances.

If this mercenary attitude informs all of your academic endeavors than your chances are zero. In any case please use the chances forum next time.

Two years later and I have been admitted into the Harvard Class of 2021. I am honestly perplexed as to why I felt it necessary to ask others to evaluate me all those years ago. Yet, I do respect the integrity of each of you in giving what you felt to be a fair and reasonable assessment. Veritas, guys.
