What "Better" Schools are You Turning Down for Your School?

Turned down George Washington, Northeastern, and University of Wisconsin to go to Michigan State. Wahoo!!

MSU was the school that made me feel most "desired." It was the only school I visited (of the ones that I applied to-aside from the state school 5 mins. away from my house). Plus, the school spirit/gorgeous campus can't be beat. It was also the only out-of-state school in my price range, lol

I turned down Johns Hopkins and georgetown for Tufts

I'm turning down Hamilton, Macalester, Oberlin, Bard and Bates for Brandeis University. But I don't think any of these are better than Brandeis. I'm getting the most aid from Oberlin, but chose Brandeis because it has a national reputation. I guess I'll have to take a student loan, damn.

I turned down Brandeis for the University of Pittsburgh. Finances werent really a factor.

Turned down Emory and NYU for BC cuz i liked it the most.

I know everyone has different financial/living situations, but why did you apply to these top schools if you weren't going to go? You took a lot of spots.

I turned down George Washington University, University of Rochester, Tulane University, and Middlebury College for Colorado College.

I turned down Wesleyan, Middlebury, and Macalester for Reed. Financial aid wasn't really the problem, I just love Reed.

ps: americanbeauty23 - thats why waitlists were invented. for people who could've gotten in if it weren't for too many applicants.

A friend turned down Northwestern 90% off (mother is a professor) for Macalester.
