Hello,
I am a high school junior currently. I want to know what you think about what Cal State Schools (Or UC’s) you think I could get into. Thank you for any help you may have:)
I am looking to major in Acting/Musical Theatre/Theatre General, I am an out-of-state student. I have a good background in the arts, lots of experience, Vocational High School training at a top theater arts votech. Male. I currently have a GPA of around 3.2. I take my SAT this week for the first time, so I do not know my score. But I received a 1270 on PSAT as a sophomore which was pretty average. Some of the schools I’ve already been strongly considering were CSU Fullerton, Northridge, Chico, and UC Santa Cruz.
Thanks Again!
As an OOS applicant, can you pay $36K/ year for the Cal states or $55K / year for the UC’s with no financial aid?
UC’s and CSU’s will only use your 10-11th grades for their GPA calculation: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
CSUN/CSUF and Chico state are possible. UCSC looks like a Reach at the moment. Get your SAT scores and then repost along with your CSU/ UC GPA.
Also, I wanted to apply to SDSU. I am not concerned with tuition at the moment.
SDSU has become a tough admit with over 83,000 applications this year. Unless you can bump up your GPA into the 3.6 range, it will be a Reach school also. Since you are in a specialized voc teach school, make sure you fulfill the a-g course requirements for the CSU’s and UC’s.

Not sure about this year, but I believe last year CSUN only admitted students from their local service area.
