What California colleges can I get into if my transfer GPA is 3.4 - 3.5?

My first choice major is computer science and my second choice is psychology. I’m currently a transfer student and applying this fall. I want to know which California colleges will most likely accept me if my GPA is in that range for cs. I don’t care about rankings but would prefer to transfer to a school with a decent cs program.

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major can help you with UCs.

Many CSUs would likely admit (those which are not impacted and where you major is not impacted will admit with a 2.0 GPA for California residents), but some of the more selective ones like SJSU or CPSLO may not. SJSU’s historical transfer admission threshold page is here: https://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/transfer-impaction-results/index.php . Note that SJSU has a software engineering major that is similar to, but slightly less selective than, computer science. CPSLO also has a software engineering major.

Below are average CSU transfer GPA by campus but not major specific like the UC Transfer GPA link. As a CS Transfer, you would want your GPA above the averages. Also CSU’s consider local priority so your local Cal State could be a safety.

I would target San Diego state, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona as possible options.
