What can a "possible" applicant do to increase her chances?

I was somewhat disappointed at my "possible" decision yesterday although the results were expected. Wellesley is not my first choice, but it is definitely up there with my 2-3 top choices. I originally wanted to apply to Early Decision. I even sent the agreements in, but then I decided to apply under EE since I really wanted to consider other choices before visiting Wellesley.

Anyways, can some current students give me some ideas?
I don't know if this is appropriate, but I was thinking of sending in a portfolio of some of the photos I have taken (mentioned a photography award on my app) even though I am applying to econ.
Also, I am planning to start a program at my school for students to read to the blind in my local community (and a few other volunteering activities), so should I send in an update of my resume?

Any other ideas or examples? Help is appreciated! Thank you!!

Send an update of your resume an current grades to show you have improved. Best of luck!

Yeah, definitely send in a portfolio of your photographs and an updated resume, that would definitely help! Also, an additional recommendation would not hurt either.

Did you interview for Wellesley?

If you haven’t already, definitely do all you can do visit Wellesley in person.

do you just send a recommendation and supplementary material to the admissions office and dean of admissions?

Since each admissions rep has an assigned area(s) whose applicants she will advocate for in committee, you should direct all correspondence, questions, supplementary materials, etc. directly to the rep in charge of your region.

Let your rep become familiar with your name (without becoming a pest, of course). Let her take an interest in you as a person and as a candidate for Wellesley. Then, you won’t be just another applicant. You’ll be “juicyj.”

: )

is the rep the one who signed your letter?

I know the name of our regional rep is on my daughter’s school Naviance page. If you don’t have Naviance, you can simply contact Wellesley and ask them.

thanks!
do you happen to know who is the califronia regional rep?

Well, for the Bay Area, it’s Lucy Pelham. However, I can’t say for sure if she handles all of California, or just Northern.

Oh yes! I met her at my school. Thanks so much.

Best of luck with your application!

I am an international applicant in the SE ASIA region. Do you guys happen to know the email address of any of the reps there? I sent an email to the admission@wellesley.edu, but I’m not sure if they have received it
THanks

thanks for all the help guys! best of luck to everyone, and hopefully we will all see each other in the fall :)

missprincess,

I think you’ll be fine with the general admissions e-mail. However, if you want to contact a regional rep–who may well not be the one in charge of your region-- you can try Lucy Pelham at lpelham[at]wellesley[dot]edu.
