Other than attempting a perfect score on the SAT I, straight A's Junior year, joining EC's... I can't do anything to change my past. I did despicably my Sophmore year. Fine my Freshman year. I can't believe I slacked off...

Everyone has regrets... nobody is a "perfect" candidate, despite how amazing a lot of people on CC seem. For every kid with a perfect GPA and SAT score who gets rejected from his or her top-choice school, there are tons of kids with not-so-perfect track records who got into that school because the admissions committees saw something in them.

Striving to be the archetypal perfect candidate is overrated. Do the best you ca-- am I seriously posting "Do the best you can"? Ugh. But you get my point. No worries. There's never no hope (I just used a double-negative CORRECTLY! F-ckin' ace.)

I am in the same boat as you, except Im going to be a Sr. I pulled off straight A's my jr year, after having 2 C's 1sem soph year. I also got 33 ACT and am now in the top 10%. Hopefully itl be enough, but I think I am pretty competitive for my top choice school (cornell). My suggestion to you is to find something academically that will set you apart (like taking a class at a 4yr uni (in somethink you're interested in an perferably a 200+ level class), or just some kind of academic risk, because at this point, what do you have to loose).

^ You could get off of here and study. There's nothing you can do about it now, unless your school lets you make it up through summer school or a correspondence program. The fact is you screwed up, so get over it and worry about doing better next time.

Sorry to be blunt, but it's the truth.

Admissions will see that you did better after you wised up after sophomore year. That's about all you can hope for. And obviously do better junior year.

I think what you really need to consider is WHY you did poorly. Then you can figure out what you need to fix.

Honestly, you seem like you're truly worried since you posted like 300 (SPARTA!!! excuse me...) times about the same topic. Your best bet would be to improve and try your best and either explain yourself or have your counselor explain your family problems or some other issues. Don't stress out, it won't do a thing. I'm pretty similar to you, as I have stumbled on here accidentally and found out how some people on here live their lives...no kidding. So I'm going to start trying after this summer, so w/e.

If you will ever go to grad school, I should like to mention that it is considerably more important than undergrad (not that undergrad isn't important, but...)
