What CC's do we have in Berkeley (or nearby) besides Berkeley City College?

I just found out that I only need one more class to double major in Psych. I just need to satisfy the Evolution lower div this semester with either (MCB 41/41X, Anthro 1, or IB 35AC). Unfortunately, the first two arent being offered this semester and the current instructor for IB 35AC just emailed me that they are no longer taking adds :(

In turn, I checked the Berk City College schedule of classes and they offer Anthro 1, but it's closed to enrolling now, so I can't take it with them either so I am trying to see if there are any other Community colleges in the area that I can take any equivalent of one of the classes above but I dunno of any so thats where you come in...

SO SADDDDDDDDD. Just neeeeedddddddddd one more classssssssssssssssssss.

Help.

Alameda, Laney are available by public transport.

sweeeeeeeeeet! do you mean AC transit can take you there? which one?

CCSF. BART takes you directly there.

The 51 bus will take you to Alameda City College. Laney is on the BART route.

Also check out Santa Monica CC’s online courses.

these are all fantastic!!! But do none of them have perhaps 6/8/10/12 week sessions that havent yet started like they have over summer?

i need to take anthro 1 or MCB 41 but from what i can see all of the anthro 1 sections are closed so i dont think there is any chance of me getting into them-let alone catch up if I were able to enroll.

Well since Fall Semester started already you need to sign up NOW for the quarter system which starts next Monday so need to get on it ASAP.

Foothill College is really your only and best bet for Online Physical Anthropology I w/o lab. There are two online sections that may have a slot.

Best of Luck!

Anthro I at Foothill is full with only a open but unlikely waitlist option. There are a few slots if were willing to drive to Foothill or De Anza since are the main quarter system CCC in the bay area. If you want to remain in B-O area then CSU East Bay is your only and best bet since are on the quarter system as well. There are two sections taught at the Hayward Campus.

thanks so much kmazza. i emailed the instructor to see if she would add me to the OL Anthro 1. i just hope that i dont have to take the lab too-im already at 20 units at Berkeley, not including the 4 units I am trying to take at Foothill.

i dont think adding the anthro 1lab is doable without going crazy.

20 units at Berkeley with 4 at Foothill is still a double load which is a lot for those schools. If you have to take the lab it typically is better to take the Physical Anthro class concurrently with the lab but certainly not necessary. You wouldn’t be able to take a lab online though. Personally I think your crazy to add to your already heavy load but that is me. I’d always rather do well with what I’m taking without spreading myself too thin and get stuck with a W. If you are already really good with biology, dna, and human anatomy Anthro should be easy but if not may end up being distracting. Even 1 unit labs can be a lot of work and fairly complex and should never be underestimated just because its only 1 unit!

anyone know of ANY CC’s with an Online version of ANTHRO 1 or MCB 41??? Im desperate here and this semester (by Oct 1) is my last chance to declare psych by enrolling in this final lower div this semester since i’ll be well over 80 units next semester :frowning:

the teacher at foothill hasnt responded to my emails/voicemails asking for an add code even though i am on the waitlist for Anthro 1 4W there…

man, 6 out of 7 damn requirements done…

Hey kmazza,

So i enrolled in Bio 12 (Humans and Genetics) at Foothill. Is there a way to get there besides car? like BART or bus or anything that you know of? Thanks again =DDD
