I am in 8th grade! I have the opportunity. My school has a two-year Algebra 1 program.
Options: Algebra 1 Part 2 in summer school (this summer), Geometry in summer school (next year), or a combination of Geometry and Algebra 2 in 10th grade (school year).
Which option seems the most feasible? Which would look better on your high school transcript?
There are very few cases where the determining factor is “What looks better.”
and then what class would you be taking during the 9th grade academic year?
If I picked the 1st option, I would Geometry during 9th grade in the academic year. If I picked the 2nd or 3rd option, I would be doing Algebra 1 Part 2 in the 9th grade academic year.
Take Geometry over the summer because it is good to have the fresh knowledge of Algebra 1 when going into Algebra 2
The ideal would be a combination of algebra 1&2 in sequence, followed by geometry/trig/analysis in sequence.
