Enrollment is around the corner. What classes should I take as a freshman at ERC? Trying to start out on the right foot.

I've heard there'll be recommended classes for me to take, should I make a basis off of those?

I've heard there'll be recommended classes for me to take, should I make a basis off of those?

I am also planning to be either pre - med or pre - pharm.

the recommended classes that come out should give you a basic idea of what you should take. heck, i followed my recommended classes exactly.

^When exactly do recommended classes come out, and where do we find them? Will it be an e-mail notification?

leukybear, I am exactly like you! freshman @ erc, pre-pharm/med, unsure about classes haha :)

^ I think it directly correlates to this recent thread about enrollment time:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/971432-enrollment-time.html

If you’re pre-med - Math 10 or 20 (whatever you’re more comfortable with), Chem 6A, MMW 1, and possibly an easy GE like a music class (I recommend Music 15: the Beatles)

are music classes one of the easier GEs to take?
what do you do in those classes…
like you need to play an instrument or something?

depends on what music class you are taking. i know some of them are music theory, and others are just learning about different genres of music. look up specific class descriptions

Yeah I’m not talking about instrumental music. That’s pretty difficult - Like for Music 15 (The Beatles) we basically just learned basic music theory and the history of the Beatles. We got to listen to a lotttt of Beatles songs, it was very enjoyable.

But remember, you can only take the Beatles class if you’re totally awesome because the class and professor are totally awesome. Just a heads up. :)

I may be wrong but I don’t think the Beatles class is being offered next quarter… sadly… otherwise I would have signed up for it long ago hahaha :)

WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT nooooooooooo! That is the best class ever

I know I heard it was!! I am a huge Beatles fan so waiting for the opportunity, since I missed it before … sorry this is totally off topic, and to be the bearer of bad news :

Hmm can I assume that I can put off math 10 for another year? I had a rather recent bad stint with AP calc last year; I’m a man of science =P

No… if you’re pre med, I’m almost positive the math classes are pre reqs for the science classes. Can someone confirm?

Well I guess its now or never =P

music, humanities/history, language
which is easier to take?

Should I take foreign language aswell freshman year?

you need math for almost every single science related major, probably all of them

@GravityxZero35

Probably music.

@leukybear

Don’t worry, the Math 10 series is really easy.
