I am currently a freshman, and the classes I am taking are:
Biology Honors
AP Human Geography
Spanish 2
English 1 Honors
Geometry Honors
and HOPE(half a year of personal fitness& half a year of team sports)

Next year I will be a sophomore definitely taking:
Anatomy & Physiology Honors
AP World History
AP language & composition
and Algebra 2 Honors

I am unsure of my electives! I still need a fine arts credit. I am tied between taking journalism (it counts for a fine arts credit) & Spanish 3, or psychology&sociology(1 year course). Is it necessary for me to take Spanish 3? Also, are these good classes to take?

“Is it necessary for me to take Spanish 3?”

It’s probably not required but a lot of colleges recommend three years of foreign language.

You should take chemistry and physics at some point, though it doesn’t have to be next year.

UF is very erratic with their admissions.

Go ahead with Spanish III.

I live in Florida and was in a similar situation last year (I’m currently a junior). I took Journalism as my elective because I wanted to go on to be on the newspaper staff at school (I’m currently in Journalism VI as a junior), but I regret not taking Spanish III this year (I took Spanish II last year). It’s an honors credit and apparently really easy but I just didn’t have room in my schedule.

In short, don’t take journalism over a core class unless you plan to follow through and join your school’s newspaper/yearbook class.
