Hi, can you guys tell me what classes you took first year in revelle and what major? Does the major effect what classes you should take? I saw from the previous posts that most people takes hum over summer. Is there any reasons for that? Thanks a lot =]

at least for the first quarter, most people tend to follow some form of this:

Revelle College - UCSD

after that, everyone kinda goes their separate ways

of course your major will affect which classes you take ... what's the point of a major, then?

first quarter i took math20c, mae9, japn10a, chem6a, beng 87(seminar)
2nd--math20c(i was in the hospital so i dropped 1st), japn10b, chem 6b, hum1, beng 87
3rd--japn 10c, hum2, chem 6b(yet again health issues, make sure to stay healty in college!), bild 1, beng 87, and bild 94(seminar for major)

bioE bioE major(applying for bioInf), japn minor

people generally take like their math, chem, bio, and hum

whatever your major is (if youre not undeclared) they usually have 4 year plans you can follow showing what you should take. and if you are undeclared just take ge's and stuff that interests you to try and find what you want to major in

also your college academic advisors will give you recommendations on what to take your first quarter at UCSD (they look at all the academic information you put into the orientation site and your AP scores etc.) prior to enrollment. You will also have the chance to ask the advisors questions with the virtual advisor or chat via their livechat advisor (if your college is doing it) before you have to enroll in classes.
