Howdy, I am a rising senior who is looking at schools that focus on Chemistry/ science majors. I have a few selections in my mind, but wanted to know which ones are better.
I am thinking of applying to these schools
GWU
American
Madison
Un of Minnesota
Lehigh
NYU
these are my target schools...so I am only listing them because I am 87% sure I will be accepted even though it is a fairly random process
Thanks in advance

It sort of depends on your goals. If you are interested in graduate school, make sure you choose a program that allows you to become involved in research. Most universities have this opportunity but the major research universities (those with Ph.D. programs in Chemistry) will offer you more of a chance to interact with graduate students and faculty involved in funded research. This can be invaluable for a graduate school application.

That being said, a smaller, more intimate, university environment may fit you better and there are likely to still be substantial opportunities.

If you are more interested in going to a job in industry right after graduation, you should look into the placement services that each university offers. A big plus might be an active internship or co-op program at the university.

Good Luck!

Thank you and i completely agree.
I am also curious about what school would provide me with the best opportunities
A bigger school may give me more connections for research and internships, while a smaller school may be more personal. I know this is a personal preference, but in terms of going further into a graduate school (i know i am far from it, but still) dentistry, chiropractics, or even med school, what school would present the best opportunities, in your opinion.

Dude… chem at NYU SUCKS supposedly.

If your really thinking about medicine look at the schools that also have a med school. I know UMn and UW-Madison do.
