This thread makes me sad that I didn't actually eat at Cornell when I was there. I think I was too preoccupied with the 'oh god it's snowing in April' bit at the time. Oh well.

My school didn't have particularly good food, and I don't like eating non-homecooked food most of the time anyway, so I was really glad to get an apartment with a kitchen. I imagine it could have been a lot worse, though. Plenty of good places to go if you want to go out around here, though.

I read a article in the newspaper a few onths back. The University of Southern California's new dorm facility, Parkside, apparently has the best food out of any college in the U.S.

Oh god. USC's food is not good. I ate there one weekend to see what it was like, and it was alright, but these two girls were calling their roommates at the table next to me. Why? Because they had "real food" this weekend for all of the various campus events happening.

Anywhere in the top 10 is probably really, really good. When my son decided to go to WUSTL it was #1. Now it is #8 but the food hasn't changed any. See arcadia's link for the list ...

When we went to orientation we ended up always wanting to eat on campus because it was as good or better than anything we could find at a local restaurant.

LOl NO pizzacan taste as good as pizza from BX or bK, Anybody who claims to have anything identicle inb the world is lying because its not really possible. The reason real nyc pizza is good, is because of the tap water we have in NY city. Its been rated as the best tasting water of any type. even sping or purified.

I go to school in Buffalo,NY and live in bronx, NY. Im on spring break. Food sucks their. Ive actually never been to a place in The US that has good food. Maybe because im a spoiled italian, but food everywhere else is trash. If you arent an italian immagrant, then you cant vouch for good italian food, because you have no basis for comparison.

Comparing NYC pizza shop pizza to my sicilian grandmothers, is a joke. Her's is 300x better.

New Jersey is precisely what I had in mind when I posted about needing good pizza and diners... I have lots of family in Jersey and every time I visit I swear that I WILL go there for school just for the food. The sad part is, I'm only half joking, and Princeton is my top choice because of it.

So you're from Jersey... where are you going to school that you'll have to give up your love of good, greasy food? I'd like to know so I can avoid it at all costs. LOL.

And thanks to Shagpin. Now I can recommend Salistino's to other people instead of just saying "the place across the street from the bear bar."

I'll be at Middlebury College in Vermont...the middle of nowhere, essentially. I'll miss my diner. Nowhere else will make me any kind of food I ask for at any hour.

My town has a population of less than 2,000 (within the official borders) and three pizza places.

You know what else I'm going to miss? Bagels. Bagels are not just bread in a funny shape. The things in plastic packaging at the grocery store are not bagels. The things that Dunkin Donuts sells under the name "bagels" are not bagels. Bagels are heavy and doughy and are made fresh every morning and if you go early they are warm and the outside is crusty...mm.

I'd say the Princeton Review list is pretty accurate from all the reviews here- Notre Dame's food is also really good and there is an awesome selection.

One might think that Ivy League schools would have some of the best food around, since they have such huge endowments. How's the food at Princeton, Penn, or Yale?
