What college has THE BEST food?

One might think that Ivy League schools would have some of the best food around, since they have such huge endowments. How's the food at Princeton, Penn, or Yale?

By that logic, McDonald's should have the best foods on Earth.

I would hardly call Berkeley dining hall among the "best" (although it's not really heinous or anything), but I think that it by far has the best meal plan, most flexibility, and great variety of what you can purchase with your meal points

Perhaps so for on campus food, but what it does not have (that some other schools do have) is great off campus places that accept meal point plans. If Berkeley did that for some places, it would be even better.

The UCs should all implement programs like what Cornell has with CityBucks(?). Great idea. I would've used so many meals at CPK...

Nods Imagine, Cheese Board pizza, Chez Panisse and the gourmet ghetto, all on my Cal ID card! That'd be weird. But really, it'd be nice to hace Jamba juice, Quiznos, ect.

If I had gone to Berkeley, I think I probably would've ended up dying of curry overdose. Westwood so lacks a good curry restaurant.

My friend said if he went here, he'd be so fat.

Westwood lacks . . . um . . . you. Or something.

the only problem with Cornell's city bucks plan is when I go home to buy a coffee at starbucks and pull out my Cornell ID only to realize it's useless. Dang.

DRab,

Westwood won't be lacking me on the 24th! I'm comin' back to the USofA for all of 10 days! w00t!

gomestar,

Cry me a river, pal. :p

Aw, shucks. I'd visit you in LA, but I'm a 'goin to New York.

Yeah, a bunch of my friends are going PLACES instead of coming to see me. One friend's off to Prague. What does Prague have that I don't? HUH?!

Oh, right...good beer.

I was just thinking that with so many alumni donating big $$ to such schools, some of the most powerful of them might take special interest in assuring that the school has gourmet food. Doesn't that make sense?

And UCLAri, are you in Japan for study abroad, or what? Have a safe trip home. : )

I live and work here until July. Then it's off to grad school at UCSD.

It sorta kinda makes sense...but like I hinted, amounts of money don't necessarily mean better food. I mean, all that money is more likely to go to things that improve rankings that food.

UCLAri, when you come to ucsd, do yourself a favor and don't eat at plaza cafe.

It's not that bad, but if you have a choice...dear god, it's not worth it.

Is that an on-campus eatery, or a restaurant in the area?

If it's on-campus, I doubt I would eat there anyway, since I'll be a grad student.

It's on campus...all the off campus places are a 5 or so minute drive. What's your grad department? If it's bio/chem, it'll likely be the closest for you.

;)

Oh, young love. sighs

I'm in IR/PS, but I'll likely be living well off-campus anyway.

DRab,

You know you want a piece of this.

Wow, this thread has taken quite a disturbing turn

Back to food, then. Sorry UCLAri, I'd pick food over you . . . though I'd die without you, too.
