the reason i first fell in love with dartmouth (granted this was about 5 yrs ago) was because the library reminded me so much of what I envisioned hogwarts to be... true story!

Rice has residential colleges and their mascot is the owl! They should definitely call their mail 'Owl Mail' like in Harry Potter. 'Owl e-mail,' 'Owl Express Service,' a few 'Owl certified stamps,' the works.

Somone briefly mentioned this about 9 pages back, but if you've ever been to Frary dining hall at Pomona College, it looks a lot like the dining hall in Harry Potter. We even had a Harry Potter movie showing there last year.

sarah lawrence and vasser, deff

Elmira College - they even have a building with their own goast.

Princeton. Especially the Graduate College dining hall, and even more so when they've got it arranged as four rows of tables (!). Especially when you add large candelabra and academic regalia.

Jk Rowling attend the University of Exeter in the south of england

I visited UChicago a few weeks ago. Now it was the day before HP was released, but I thought it looked a hell of a lot like Hogwarts! Well, some buildings more than others.

Christ Church College - Oxford University

Exactly, I was just about to say, let's not forget Oxford and Cambridge! :D

I applied to U of Cambridge (Emmanuel College). Seems Hogwarts-like enough for me. lol

it's OBVIOUSLY Cornell

UCSB, its a spitting image

Sort of related...

I know a lot of schools have elaborate underground tunnel systems, but a lot of them closed them for various reasons (like mine - we've tried to get in, but to no avail...) What schools are there left that still have systems like that, open to the students, officially or not?

I've heard Caltech, University of Minnesota. University of Illinois used to (well, unofficially...) but I don't know if you can still get in them.

jeffsthebest-are you serious about ucsb? or was that sarcasm?

All of these colleges seem sooo hard to get into. Like Oxford, Yale, etc ! Is there any "Hogwart-sy" colleges that I can get into off of straight c's

Holy Cross's Dining Hall is really Hogwartsyy.

laldm, Caltech is not Hogwartsy.

BUMPPPPP

What other colleges are gothic-looking (Hogwarts looking)
Boston College is beautiful...I've never really checked it out and it sounds amazing.

Although I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, I've heard TONS of Hogwarts references since deciding upon going to Wellesley. It's been mentioned on this thread a few times. There's a brick wall on campus that says "Platform 9 3/4ths" It also has the underground tunnels connecting the entire campus (they're not "officially" open to the students, but it's pretty fun to explore them)

Can anyone expell on the "Hogwart's Factor" of any of the universities in Great Britain??
