<p>Vandy or UVA. I think JHU/Emory/Tufts lack school spirit/socially.</p>
<p>All would offer fine educations in a wide variety of fields. Would be pointless to try to separate them by overall undergrad academic quality. </p>
<p>Hopkins would seem to be the top choice for a very specific type of person: very serious and studious, doesn't need the big sports scene or the exciting big city.</p>
<p>Vandy and UVa would offer a much more social and well-rounded experience...bigtime sports, etc. Pick Vandy if you're more urban, and Virginia if you like things a lot more pastoral.</p>
<p>Tufts and Emory would be between Hopkins on one hand and UVa/Vandy on the other. They don't have the rollicking social scenes or the bigtime sports, but they aren't obsessively academic, either. Pick Tufts if you like Boston and Cold winters; pick Emory if you like Atlanta and more mild winters.</p>
