What colleges should i look at

i live in New York and want to stay in the northeast region. preferably by a city but its not that important. I want to major in Political science so i've been considering George Washington University. I have about a 4.7 gpa, 29 act, and for sat: 660 eng. 650 math 580 writing.
i'd really appreciate feedback from those who know more than me.

Tufts as a reach is really good. If you care, Bill Richardson went there.

I know you said the NE region, but if you are willing to travel look at Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan. Closer to home check out Rochester, American, Binghamton and Syracuse. Good luck!

I know that the temptations is to look at all of the name schools that you know. That is truly the easy part of college search. The tough part is looking for a good safety and match schools that you can truly like and fit your needs. I like Poi's suggestions, and you should be looking for that good ol' safety as well.

Clark U, U of Vermont, Trinity College, Fordham, Villanova, are somewhat near urbanish areas

Others you might consider:
Bates, St. Lawrence, Connecticut College, Gettysburg, Lafayette, Muhlenberg, U of New Hampshire, Franklin and Marshall, Washington and Jeffereson, Skidmore, Union College.
