Just based on my gpa, and other stuff that i gave you, what are good colleges that would be matches and safeties? (Btw, i live in new jersey) Thank you!!

Your C+, & B’s are going to hurt chances for top 20 schools. You really won’t know how selective level of schools you’d have a chance of being admitted to until you get SAT scores.

There are literally 100 schools that might be a match, so you need to give us more information if you want good suggestions. Your SAT score (or PSAT) would help.

Other info:
a) do you need financial aid? how much?
b) what do you want to study? plan to do professionally?
c) in what part of the country do you want to study? urban/rural/suburban? weather?
d) size of school? large public, small liberal arts colleges, mid-sized?
e) what kind of culture? liberal/conservative/moderate, artsy, rah-rah, granola, intellectual, politico, quirky, preppy, etc…
f) deal-breakers: single sex? religious? other?

If you don’t know the answer to these questions, then you need to start by visiting some local schools (your local state u, a nearby LAC, etc…) and doing some reading about the differences between these types of schools. And talk to your parents now about what they can afford and where they see you going. Might as well get their expectations on the table right up front.
