What colleges would fit me?

Here’s what I’m looking for in a college
-SMALL(Preferably no more than 2,000 students. MAX 3,000)
Environment( I want a college with the environment of a private Country Club. Wealthy, posh student body)
–Preppy(I want a school where the overwhelming majority of students have popped collars)
-Strong academic community (I want a school where the students care about their schoolwork)
-Small classes (I MUST have small classes. No more than 15 students in a class)
-Strong Political Science program (I want a strong American Government program)
-Conservative(I would prefer that the student body lean conservative, but anything is fine, as long as it’s not ultra-Liberal)

In terms of my stats, I am a B student, and will probably get around 1900-1950 on the SAT
Thanks!. I go to an all-male Catholic school.

Define “B student” Is your gpa a 2.7? A 3? A 3.3? 3.4? It would make a huge difference.

Also whats your course rigor like? A b in AP is much different than a B in regular classes.

At the end of junior year, I will have around a 3.5 GPA.
Here is my course load from 9th to11th grade
9th
English 9 (A)
World History 1 (A)
Algebra 1 (B)
Earth Science (A)
Music History (A)
Gym (A)
10th
Honors English 10 (A)
Honors Algebra 2 (B)
Honors Philosophy (B)
Honors Theology (B)
Latin (A)
Chemistry (B)

11th(I don’t have my grades yet, but here are the courses I will be taking)
AP English Language & Composition
AP US History
Honors Geometry
Honors Biology
Honors Theology 11
Latin

I don’t know about the “popped collar” so much, but Hillsdale College is very conservative and has a strong political science program. They are not known to be welcoming of “outsiders”, so I didn’t bother to have my kids look there.

Oh a 3.5 is a different story. Bucknell is a stretch but still in range for you and I think you would definitely like it. Maybe Holy Cross would be a good fit as well. Union College in upstate NY seems great too. It’s pretty much everything you want except I don’t know how strong the poli a I program is. I do know it’s definitely solid. Those are the three that come to mind. Union is a match, the other two are slight reaches. Good luck

On several of your other threads looking for preppy schools, you’ve received suggestions which would meet your criteria. Have you researched those? I’m perplexed by the fact you keep asking for the same thing.

@MegaMetalHead
What about Gettysburg, Sewanee, Trinity, and Hampden-Sydney? People have recommended all of those schools to me.

You scream Washington and Lee. Get the SAT up if you are considering here though.

But question – why do you want this type of environment? It’s limiting, not diverse, and partially snarky. It’s one thing to be used to that type of college environment if you lived in an area/went to a school in a similar demographic. However, it just limits you so much. You’re not able to meet a diverse variety of people who can contribute to your life and maturation and education.

@TheDidactic
I want this sorty of environment, because this is what I like. It is what will fit me. Everyone has their own preferences, and I don’t see what’s wrong with having mine.

There’s nothing wrong with having that preference; however I just feel that it would be limiting. That’s all. Still, look into Washington and Lee.

W&L, Furman, Richmond, Wake Forest, Sewanee and Wofford all come to mind.

Check these out, several of them are Catholic:

.

You sound like the prototype Holy Cross student

Oh man I can’t believe I forgot Sewanee! Yes definitely. As for Washington and Lee, I didn’t mention it because it seemed like a stretch but you could apply as reach school. I don’t know anything about Gettysburg or Trinity can’t help you there.

Down south there is Furman, Wofford, Birmingham Southern, Elon, and High Point University. High Point is probably much different than any other school you have looked at. Look in to it, its a very interesting thing they are doing there.

Oh and Hampton-Sydney, that is all male though.

@ntk131998
Please tell me everything you know about Hampden-Sydney.

@Kdkhan I dont know too much. Its in South-Central Virginia, and from what I hear its very fratty and conservative, and despite being all male, its almost hard to tell that on the weekends as they socialize with girls from many of the surrounding schools. I believe there is a decently active Hampden-Sydney forum here on CC. I would check that out.
