What colleges would you recommend for me?

Hey,
I'm a junior in a Moroccan private school.
My freshman and sophomore grades weren't as good as this years. Fortunately, i improved this year and have gotten B's as compared to the C's and B's i had the last two years. I have been on the honor roll this year as well. My GPA is a 3.0 unweighted.
In addition, i have been in the debate club last year as well as this year. I have also done a few hours of community service which really taught me a lot.
I will be taking the SAT's this May. My PSAT's weren't so good so with a lot of studying, i hope to do well..
I will also be taking AP French, have considered taking AP English but not so sure about that.

What are a few state schools that you would recommend? Preferably those that give scholarships to international students.

and what else can i do this year to impress colleges?

I think you may get responses if you post this on the “International Students” board.

Grinnell Gives both merit scholarships and Need based scholarships to internationals. But it is a private school.

I do not think there are any public schools (state schools) in the country that give aid to internationals.

Very few state schools give scholarships to international students. It’s private schools that have most of the money for internationals. But honestly, if you’re not a top student with high scores, finding a college to give you much money will be extremely hard.

I would recommend that you choose an inexpensive school. I suggest Southwest Minnesota State University.
http://www.southwestmsu.edu/admission/IS%20Bugdget%20Sheet%2010-08_Layout%201.pdf</a></p>

Prices here without any special scholarships are as low as you would pay at many other places with scholarships. This is a school that is looking for more diversity, so they charge international students the same low rate for tuition that they charge in-state students. You would be appreciated here.

Bemidji State University, also in Minnesota, is even less expensive
http://www.bemidjistate.edu/offices/business/tuition_fees/docs/tuition_fees.pdf</a>
and again, they are looking for more international students. The campus is absolutely beautiful; right on Lake Bemidji. But it is very cold there there in the winter - if you did not enjoy cold and snow, you would probably not be happy. If you like sledding, ice skating and cross country skiing, you could consider Bemidji. It is in an area that is so beautiful it gets many many tourists in the summer.
