what daaa?? the application status is confusing

I recommend that if you have any question that something might be missing (because they do a terrible job of updating online), is to call or email them and ask if they have received it…and do they have everything they need. Sometimes they take a long time to email, though, so if you can call that’s always better.

^^ thank you, that makes sense, will ask son to call.

Naviance hits common app, so when the school sends the teacher recs they send the transcript at the same time. Oh well, one more thing to track!

pixeljig, did you submit supplement and teacher recs separately?

i asked this before but all i have on my status is:

23-dec-2009 Folder Pulled committee read
17-dec-2009 Admission Score Report Form
13-dec-2009 SAT Subject Test Score Report
13-dec-2009 SAT Reasoning Test Results
04-dec-2009 Application Fee Paid
04-dec-2009 Application Processed
04-dec-2009 Common Application on Line

and i submitted my teacher recs, school report, and transcript ALL at once.

do you guys think “Common Application on Line” includes everything?

Here is what mine says:

15-jan-2010 Application Complete
15-jan-2010 Supplementary Materials #1
14-jan-2010 Alumni Interview Report
31-dec-2009 Teacher Recommendation

07-dec-2009 Application Fee Paid

06-dec-2009 ACT Test Scores
06-dec-2009 SAT Reasoning Test Results
02-dec-2009 High School Transcript
02-dec-2009 School Report Form

I have no idea what Supplementary Materials #1 is… It could be my second teacher recommendation… but i would assume that it would just say that… Also I never send my ACT scores…

Son’s does not say High School Transcript recd…hence the worry.

If it says application complete then its all ok I would say.

Son’s status does not say ‘application complete’ as yet.

School says they sent it all together - the recs and transcript through Naviance that hits Common Application.

My app is finally complete!

27-jan-2010 Application Complete

FYI: Those of you who have “Common Application on Line” only,
you must have everything listed on the status to complete your application.
I submitted my teacher recs, school report, and transcript ALL TOGETHER but my status reads as above.

hey guys did any of you get “Overnite Decision Ltr Request”? I got that recently and I’m trying to figure out what that is…

And also… in the “Admission documents sent” section, it seems like they recently sent the “Application & Viewbook”. Do they sent that after a while in the admissions process?

@laure327: So it should still show “Transcript”? Will this actually be shown if my counselor used the online form and unloaded a soft copy of the transcript?

I honest to god don’t have a clue as to why I have so many teacher recs here (I only thought my school submitted 3). Should I be concerned?

I wouldnt worry about it. It could be one of two things. A glitch in the system, or a rogue teacher writing in to say how much they hate you lol

@ kenhungkk: Yes, you need to have every material listed on the status. That’s what my counselor did as well, she uploaded my transcript online (Common App website) and it’s still showing.

@ invgamma: Wow… 6 recs? weird… I don’t think having that many recs would help you. I recommend talking to your school counselor first and see what he/she says.

How about teacher recommendations? Is each teacher’s recommendation shown as a separate item, or will all of them be combined as a single item on the status?

I dont have “High School transcript” on my list. Is this a problem?

No high school transcript…that could be a big problem

My counselor has submitted the transcript through Common App. All other universities have received it, but not CMU, and now I’m sweating it.

You could always try sending admissions an email or call them. Here’s an anecdote. I sent my transcript in November. By December, it had not shown so I emailed admissions to see if they had gotten them. Admissions said “I checked our database and we do have your transcript. It should show on your ‘where am I in the process’ soon”.

As of February 1st, my “Where am I in the Process” still has no record of receiving my transcripts.

Hope this helps! (Just because it doesn’t show up doesn’t mean they don’t have it…but don’t be afraid to call or email!).

DS emailed last week because they’re missing his transcript, teacher rec’s and counselor form. Here was their response:

Thanks for your email to the Carnegie Mellon University Office of Admission.
