I’m from Canada, and for the best two years my overall average has been 80-84%. I realize that in America that is considered a B. What can I do to higher my chances of being accepted to a decent boarding school? I’m looking at Millbrook and Mercersburg currently.
You may want to look at the official results & stats thread from the last few years. I think with a high SSAT range of scores you will have many options. You are more than the sum of your scores and grades. Most schools will tell you that they want well rounded and balanced students. Do you participate in sports? Was your current school challenging…? Are you attended a bilingual school? Do you have artistic & musical talents to share with the school? The acceptance stats thread and older chances threads may be of help. Best wishes to you and welcome to CC.
They will also accept you based on Canadian standards. If an 80 in Canada is equivalent to an A in the US, the admissions will know that. We came from a school system with a very strange standard. It had to be explained but didn’t seem to limit acceptance that much ( though I don’t think it helped either). You can also comment on the grade system when you submit your application under other information.
