What degrees do your parents hold?

<p>mom- nothing, just high school
father- j.d.</p>

<p>My parents went to college in Korea.</p>

<p>Mom: BA (English and French, KUFS), MBA (int'l management, KUFS), MA in ESL education or TESOL or whatever it's called (Manhattanville College)
Dad: PhD in engineering (Seoul Nat'l U)</p>

<p>Needless to say, my dad was shocked when I got a B- in physics. And I hope to get: BS (Finance/psychology minor, NYU-Stern), MBA (Columbia)</p>

mom = B.A. in journalism</p>

<p>......Looks like I'll be the first in my family to get a PHD lol ;)</p>

Dad- didn't finish high school, but got GED and took night classes at ITT Tech.</p>

dad: b.a-orginizational psychology..ma-same as b.a
my dad now owns a party rental company and has for 25+yrs</p>

<p>no degrees and not even a high school diploma on my Dad's side.
America is a great place, I made it to Georgetown and Columbia grad in one generation. Standardized testing (SAT APs etc.) was my very great ally.</p>

my maternal grandmother actually had a masters which was shocking considering</p>

<p>a j.d. is a juris doctor. basically a law degree.</p>

<p>I forgot what my mom has, but my dad went undergrad at Loma Linda University, then went to UCSF for his doctorate in dentistry.</p>

<p>both parents went to community college then transferred to UC berkeley, my dad in civil engineering, my mom in biology... then 20 years later or so she got her teaching credential from CalState East Bay or Fresno, iono it was online</p>

<p>My parents met at UMich...which is probably why I live in Ann Arbor.</p>

<p>Economically advantaged. My mom isn't working anymore. My dad has a high paying job with a large turbocharger corporation. Income level: mid-200k/year</p>
