What degrees do your parents hold?

yay for no degrees in the entire family on both sides!!! It'd be nice if they had a box for that on the application.

mom: electrical engineering masters
dad: mechanical engineering masters
both from a good state school

"Economically advantaged. My mom isn't working anymore. My dad has a high paying job with a large turbocharger corporation. Income level: mid-200k/year"

Amaaaaazing.

My dad didn't spend eight years in school and makes more money than yours...so what's your point?

^ Um, I think they were just trying to answer the OP's question, not bragging.

If you asked me, it seemed more like bragging--someone else on this thread simply said: "We're doing fine".

Gosh. I wish my parents were making mid 200K a year. And I'm in CA. AKA the most expensive state in the usa.

I dunno, NJ is getting pretty expensive...we might have to move out soon if everything just keeps going up ;(

Where do you live in NJ? I live in the Northwest, and it's all nice...but ridiculously expensive.

Wow. I'm really surprised that there aren't any doctor's kids in here. I mean, REALLY surprised. I expected to see at least one per page.

What's an LLM?

yeah where i live in NJ it's pretty expensive but it's like one of the top 10 richest counties (somerset) so i guess that makes sense

my Dad has a PhD in geography or something like that... he stays home and doesn't work.

my Mom dropped out of college twice and is the managing editor of a fairly large newspaper.

what does that say for college degrees?

Both parents just have a high school diploma

my mom has a GED and my grandma finished at 8th grade.

And I'm in top richest county #2! whoooo

Anyone find it interesting how the richest counties in the nation mostly go Democratic?

Im the 6th richest county! yay not! seriously...we live wealthy but theres definetely poor areas nearby...but i guess its roslyn..glencove..even where i live and where i used to live(RVC!) are wealthy but even rvc had its not wealthy parts we had projects! and in are school district we had another town that was apart that was definetely not as wealthy as my area of rvc despite we were right next door to them
