Also, where would you rank yourself in terms of the following:

Wealthy

there was an earlier thread about how much money your parents make. it got canned the moment it went up. i suspect the same will be true now.

it's kinda a topic that is too hot to handle if u ask me...

dad's in the russian mafia and mom's in the adult film industry

we have more money than you maggots could ever make in sixteen lifetimes.

;)

Well I come from humble backgrounds so my parents' jobs won't offend anyone:

Mom - Executive Assistant for Agilent Technologies
Dad - Long haul truck driver for NEP, Inc. (He hauls portable HD-TV studios - he does Monday Night Football in addition to the X-Games, NBA games, and other stuff - it's really cool actually)

it's really so personal because what I consider wealthy in a typical average city, might be considered average to someone living in Orange County.

Mom--Elementary school teacher
Father--Businessman (Importer)

I suppose I'm relatively wealthy by most people's standards...Not in that top 1%, but perhaps the top 5-10%.

Mom- RN (Nurse) and a landlord (rental properties)
Dad- Has own trucking business with trucks that bring in near $200,000/year

uhh...I guess you could say we're wealthy

What is the top % of earners anyways?

lol, our apush teacher told us that 75% of the people who think they're in the top 10% of earners aren't. dunno how true it is though, there's plenty of people with some insane salaries/bonuses out there.

both my parents are swedish diplomats.
i'd say we're comfortable, but the swedish government pays for a lot of things, including rent and private school tuition. we definitely couldn't maintain such a high standard of living just from my parents' salaries.

What is the top 10% though?

I know how much my father makes so I'm just curious for myself.

Under comfortable but definitely above poor: My mom is a high school math teacher and my dad is a Catholic social services worker. Catholic charities hit it hard after the priest scandal so yeah . . . let's just say although the money was never rolling in it kinda stopped coming at all.

both my parents are college professors

My father is college professor and my mom is a part-time dentist.

I'd say we have all of what we need and most of what we want. Call that whatever you want.

Haha. By "part-time dentist," do you mean "dentist?"

Cause I can swear my dentist is "part-time" too...Doesn't work Wednesdays, doesn't take appointments for Friday afteroons...

Dad- CEO Tech company
Mom- Got a BS in math at UCLA...now is mother of four :)
We live comfortably....house with vineyards in front...its a nice view to wake up to every morning

Dad - Chemistry professor who writes textbooks (My AP Chem class uses his book)
Mom - Retired, every so often writes solutions manuals for my dad's books

Dad - Senior Lawyer for big law firm
Mom - Physical Therapist in an elementary school

I guess we are "comfortable," but that really depends on how you define the word.

mom: obgyn
dad: commercial pilot
comfortable
