i got 1998 for the consecutive even numbers problem also, but now i see why i got the volume one wrong. i'm soo happy you don't lose points for stdent-produced answers!

hey what did you guys put for that one writing question about Mr. Bret's departure.
I don't remember every single option but I had it narrowed down to 2:
"Mr. Bret's departure will diminish the reputation of our school like none other."
"Nothing will diminish the reputation of our school as much as Mr. Bret's departure will."

:O In the passage about the japanese artist her name could mean either nose or flower in japanese.

thats all I was thinking throughout that passage.

then I started transcribing the japanese words in hirigana...I think I hd a bit of extra time.

the second, if i am remembering correctly.

why the second?

Skipping questions just leaves points on the desk that should be on your score report.

I agree. In all the standardized tests I've taken I've never skipped an answer... I always give it a shot if I can eliminate one or two. Did everyone here have "Put Forth" for the cast problem in CR? I found myself picturing an obelisk moving shadows around and chose that choice.

ya its def put forth.... all of the others were implying human action i believe....

does anyone remember the other options for the "sunflower description within parenthesis"? it was a hanna the artist one.

My son didn't have much to say about the test except this: "There was one really easy math question. It asked how many points are above the line. No kidding. Just count the dots."

Really? Was there more to it than that? Or was it really that simple?

I'm pretty sure that was the extent of it DougBetsy. And I think the answer was 9, if anyone wants to back me up.

Yes the answer was 9. 9 Above and 4 below the line of best fit. Nice to see some easy points here and there.

Hey, just wondering, are we going to get our PSAT results back earlier on collegeboard.com or will the printed version come first?

Reading this thread has made me horribly nervous for Saturday. That said, I should be practicing but I'm ready to set my practice tests on fire.

@ ashleyL

I'd say the printed version because don't you need the code to access your score report online?

For the passage based questions about mars, was the answer for the authors views topographical vs. mineralogical? And for the math question about the maximum number of points a circle with a radius of 6 and a circle with a radius of 12, 2?

Opus2317, I believe those were the correct answers.
I dunno why I picked another choice for the Mars question...

does anyone know when the scores for this psat are sent?

For the departure I put the second one. I think it would not be the first one because it says none other but does refer to any other event or any other sort of departure by anyone else. I think I missed 3 or 4 for sure on the math and felt good about my CR's. I skipped 1 MC math and 1 free response and 1 CR.

You may not see official score reports till after the turn of the year. The flood of mail from colleges usually begins in January.
