What did you waitlist letter say?

So, tough day for CC…but in the midst i could not help but notice that my brown waitlist latter was quite ‘personal’…i.e. not the usual generic one.

So, just wanted to know what all you fellow waitlistees got in the letter??

Also, good luck!

The Board of Admission has completed its review of your application and has voted to place your name on our Waiting List. As disappointing as this decision may be for you, you should know we are impressed by your abilities and achievements and I sincerely hope that you will maintain your interest in Brown.

This year, Brown received nearly 25,000 applicants for the 1,485 positions available in the Class of 2013. We have offered admission to a small percentage of our applicants but not so many, we believe, as to make it impossible for us to admit some applicants from the Waiting List.

Your official decision letter has been mailed to you and should be read carefully, as it contains more information than can be provided here, including a detailed explanation of Waiting List status. If the Board votes to offer you admission from our waiting list, you will be notified by mail; you should not, however, expect notification prior to May 15, and we will conclude out wait list process by mid-June. If you also applied to the Program in Liberal Medical Education, we regret that all of the positions in the PLME have been filled, and your Waiting List status is for admission to The College as an A.B. or Sc.B. degree candidate.

The members of the Board of Admission believe that you do have special qualities to offer to the Class of 2013, and so it is disheartening that we are unable to recognize your accomplishments more fully at this time. You may be sure that even if only one student can be selected from our Waiting List, your application will be thoroughly reviewed.

Yours sincerely,

James S. Miller
Dean of Admission

It’s an honor to be waitlisted. If they let me in, i’d say yes, no question.

same letter here -_- zz i thought it was personal as well, apparently not. oreo was yours the same as well?

LOL. Yup same thing, word for word. Guess just seemed personal in comparison to the usual generic stuff we get…

So, out of curiosity, how are your other college options looking up?? Or is Brown top choice?
