I live in England. Hopefully going to a US college next year, kinda nervous about my accent. Will it make me an outcast or is it counted as a good thing?

Oh, your classmates will eat it up, trust me!

I dated a guy who grew up in England but moved over here in junior high. Without realizing it, he would talk to me in an American accent, then turn to speak to his parents in a British accent! So I loved going over to his house with him to hear him talk with them. His accent was the main thing I missed about him after we broke up in college.

I enjoyed learning the different terms for things in the two countries - windshield vs. windscreen, elevator vs. lift, etc., etc.

Just don’t talk about Americans as “colonists,” and you’ll be fine!

It tends to be found pretty attractive…

^Yep, don’t want to be that typical American girl, but British accents are hot. Your attractiveness level jumps +1 when you flaunt a British accent in the States

Sexy.

(As a canadian, ofc )

I find even below average guys with a British accent really hot…

English accents are amazing and Americans love them!!! Why did you even ask, you knew that!!

Yea accents are a great talking point as well I guess it help that I played futbol(see what I did there) so you should have no trouble. But i have heard numerous stories about english people being stuck up to Americans but I can assure you will be welcomed here.
