I know that colleges alter the Gpa’s that are sent by high schools by unweighting and then reweighting…i was wondering if anyone knew exactly what certain institutions do to calculate a “fair” GPA that is comparable for everyone… for instance, at my school, we don’t weigh GPA and i have a 3.61 ish, but i’d be given an extra .5 for every adv/Ap class that i’ve taken, then my gpa would be raised all the way up to a 3.91… thanks
<p>I'm sure they "unweight" it to take away any way your school boosts it, but I don't know for sure, and my guess is very few people here know either, simply because of the secretness of the admissions process.</p>
