What do I need?

Just wondering what scores/grades/ECs would be great to have to get into Groton, Deerfield, Exeter, Andover, etc.

I’ve written this before (for a previous crop of applicants)…perhaps several times:

THERE.
IS.
NO.
SECRET.
FORMULA.

There are kids who can get into any of those schools with relatively low SSAT scores, because they are a top athlete or fill some other need that the school has that particular app cycle. There will also be kids with 99%-ile test scores as well as amazing grades and EC who will be rejected from the same schools.

My advice to you (and all other applicants) is NOT to focus on thresholds of scores or grades or having X number of the “right” ECs…but rather focus on how you are a good fit at various schools — and think beyond the most famous ones. Of course Groton, Deerfield, Exeter, and Andover are great schools…but there are plenty of others out there that will most likely serve your needs just as well.

If anything, I’d say the “secret formula” is applying to schools where you will be at or near the top off their applicant pool in terms of stats and/or applying to schools that have historically prized applicants with the unique talents you can bring.

^^ Ditto.

Alright thanks guys  Just been stressing lately!!
