What do I put in Additional Information and in the Resume (CV)?

Hey guys,

So I have a question about what I should put in the “Additional Information” section in the Common App. I have added ten activities in the “Activities” section, but I still have more. Should I add them to the Additional Information section? I’m also uploading a résumé which has these extra activities along with the original activities. Will it become too repetitive?

I don’t want to waste the admission officers’ time with something they may think has been repeated, but then I’m not sure what goes in the resume and what goes in the AI.

Thanks!

Don’t add more activities – I guarantee you they stopped reading after 4 or 5. A resume isn’t wanted (that’s why colleges begged Common App to remove the resume upload feature that existed in previous years).

AI is for something extraordinary or unusual. Detailed descriptions of otherwise normal ECs or more ECs is NOT what’s wanted.

@T26E4 Princeton, for example, has a slot to add a resume though.

So is there no way to indicate what I have done outside of those 10 activities?

Also, I’ve seen some people use the AI to give more insight on themselves and their personality. Should I do this?

I’m saying you CAN use that slot for whatever you wish. I’m saying that schools (incl Princeton) don’t need you to elaborate on 10+ activities you did while you were in HS. That WON’T add to your file’s strength.
