Well, I must say when the tornado hit, I certainly enjoyed having a access to a few contraband items, like the random candle I got at a white elephant party that had been stuck in the back of my closet. I would NEVER ever approve of an open flame normally, but it was nice to have it for light when the power was out. But yes, lighting candles is prohibited for a very good reason. I just use febreze for everything normally. I just wish that things like George Foreman grills weren’t banned. I kinda understand why, but the danger is about the same as with a toaster IMHO.

Glade has those air fresheners for tough odors for a buck.

I assume I can send an electric tea kettle. I would assume if a coffee maker is ok, they are. S like me is a tea drinker. They are much safer than a teapot or random pan to boil water. I know as H burned several before I realized he was going to burn the house down if I didn’t get one. Very pricey though, the metal ones are $75-$100. Yet another thing. I am still working on the duvet cover, but that is the only big item I have left. Otherwise, a lot of small stuff.

ldinct: if you are a Costco member, look there for an electric tea kettle. I got mine there for around $20 and it is a very nice stainless steel one.

Thanks Rob, they have one online but it’s $39.99 and its part plastic I think. I bought their puffy mattress pad/topper online, and I only had to pay $3 extra for non-members. I could probably go in and pay non-member i think

When I called up Housing, I was told appliances with open elements are prohibited but those with an automatic shut-off feature are allowed. I got son’s stainless steel electric teakettle (auto shut off) at Target for about $30.
