THis goes out to the people who attended CalSo last year.

Should we bring a backpack?
Do we really need to stay the entire day?
What other things to we need?
Will we be walking around most of the day?
Are we required to stay on campus with a group?
Do we have a chance to explore on our own time?
etc.

Since course selection is done at CalSO, come prepared with a list of courses that you want to take, including alternate courses if your first choices are full. See [Home Page - Online Schedule Of Classes](http://schedule.berkeley.edu) and the web site for your major department.

So I’m looking up classes on the online schedule. A lot of the classes like PS3 don’t have the names of the professor. There’s one PS3 course with a specified professor (Wittenberg), but all the other PS3s listed don’t have instructors.

Does this mean that Wittenberg teaches all the PS3 courses?

Do you guys know what it means when there are people on the waitlist for a class when there is still room in the class? Like there are 4 spots available for this class I’m looking at…but there are 8 people on the waitlist! Wth?

And how many alternate classes do we pick? I need to take some upperdiv POLS courses, but they are all full with like 20 ppl on the waitlist… I’m kind of scared that I won’t get any of the classes I need.

The waitlisted people are waiting for a specific discussion or lab time, even though there is space in the lecture.

The course has priority enrollment based on major, class standing, etc., and the waitlisted people are in the lower priority groups who will only be enrolled in the course after all of the people with priority due to major, class standing, etc. have enrolled.
