What do we need to do after being admitted for early action

D got admitted through early action. What do we need to do other than visiting the college in April and respond by May?

Nothing else!

Your D wants to attend, I assume? If you are applying for financial aid you’ll need to do the FAFSA after Jan 1, and maybe Profile too. You might send a deposit now and choose housing if it is possible and desirable to get that done early.

Also, no need to wait to visit until April. If she isn’t sure about the school, set up a visit with an overnight and some classes sooner.

I think there is a lot to be said for finishing other applications and going to the actual accepted student days (in April) if it fits her schedule to do so. College do some extra stuff for those days, and they are TRYING to put their best foot forward (doesn’t always work that day, one of my kids had some interesting experiences at accepted student visits that changed her preferences among what she thought were her top choices).

If you are sure that the EA school will be affordable (i.e. it is now a safety), then the student can drop applications to other schools that she would not choose over the EA school.

If affordability is uncertain, then she should complete all other applications (as well as apply for financial aid and scholarships).

Thank you all for your informative responses.
