With math, science, and the like, I can listen to almost anything. During more language-oriented subjects, I listen to instrumental music (including video game soundtracks, post-rock, etc).

I think music stimulates the brain and it should be allowed during all testing situations. I understand that cheating would be the greatest concern, but if there was some way to regulate it, I think we would see a large increase in average standardized testing scores.

I listen to my iPod on shuffle... I really just need music of any kind to keep me interested.

Here's what just shuffled onto my iPod...
Modern Art - Art Brut
Rollercoaster - Sleater-Kinney
Give It Lose It Take It - Field Music
How Lester Lost His Wife (LP Version) - Of Montreal
What The Future Might Be - Think About Life
Don't Get Out of Bed - Alaska in Winter
Deep Underground - Bridge Club
Grey Complexion - The Wrens
Tables And Chairs - Andrew Bird

desk. That is what I bang with my hands. I listen, match the timing, the mood of the ambiance.

It's always interesting to see what type of music other people like. I do find it interesting that there is very little rap/hip-hop/R&B on here. There is a lot of alternative rock. As for me, the last 1/2 of Nov. means holiday music - nothing better than a little Trans-siberian Orchestra. Year-round, however
Led Zeppelin
Billy Joel
Queen
hair bands (too many to list)
The Turtles
The Beatles
pretty much anything classic rock

This last year, I've discovered some alternative rock that's pretty good. No lyrical geniuses yet, however.

post-rock/noise/sludge metal is usually the only thing I can listen to while working.

White Stripes.... yes....
and I've never heard "bang" used quite like that, either

orrr I put on the radio
props for Indie 103.1 from L.A.
best radio anywhere!!

oh, and death metal
no kidding
is amazing when it's just crap you have to get through on a migrane

chamillionaire, 50 cent, krazy bone, basically all rap and r&B.

right now: Fabolous
