I'm really interested in a double major. I am transferring from a community college where I earned a dinky AA. Coming in as a junior... is it impossible to double major for those 2 years? Anyone thinking of saying longer to complete a double? (or do universities tend not to accepted transfer double major request?)

It depends on what you want to major in. Obviously, I doubt that you can double major in Math and Biology in 2 years.

You'll have to cram in a lot of upper division courses in 2 years. It's not impossible but it will take work.

Summer school may also be a requirement.

I am going to double major in Econ/Math after I transfer.
It's prolly not going to be that hard because I've taken several Math and Econ courses at my current college. I'll probably even have room to minor in a third area!

Im a math ane econ major as well here in Boston University.. It really isnt that difficult to major in both as math is econ are like bread and butter.

So, are there a lot of over-lapping math/econ classes that count toward both majors? I've noticed some schools have policies that allow overlapping classes for doubles--then others that are pretty strict against it.

Something like computer science and business would probably take a lot of extra work--yeah? I guess this would also depend on what classes actually make the transfer and if any of those would take care of some of the major's requirements.

oh and sorry for my sloppy original post. I swear, I am not retarded ;)

Some schools offer a program called math-econ, where you take a sufficient amount of courses from both fields. Leo- I noticed you are from San Diego. Are you considering UCSD? They offer math-econ.

Yeah, I was accepted at UCSD--for Econ (but I was originally thinkin' the management science route)... But now I am looking at other options, waiting for other transfer responses... we'll see.

I am more interested in a double major in business + other. However, i can see how a double major may be a bit too ambitious for transfer students. I guess it mainly depends if class-overlap count toward the double or not.
