What do you guys think

Well, I'm a community college student in Southern CA, planning on transferring to Santa Clara, LMU, or Dominican University of California( this one is a hidden gem and my first choice despite not being that well known) and this will be my last semester hopefuly

Bio major
HS GPA - aboslute garbage, barley graduated - mostly because I was a bad kid.
SAt- HA! well 1660ish? i didn't care, its not like i was going to college with my grades,

After a turnaround

CC GPA-3.2-3
Units completed-26 doing another 12 this fall
Plays Water Polo
essay is of little concern
1 Letter of rec

With raw gpa, my chances are 50/50 for each, but there is a problem. The only class i have taken so far for my major is general biology and I got a C in it( overloaded 14 unit summer semester) so i am freaking out about my admittance. I can apply for spring or fall of 2014, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Considering calling and asking for an in person interview. Tell them that you think the school is a hidden gem and that you understand why you may not seem competitive but that there is alot more to you. Even if they say no they will atleast know you care especially if it’s a small school. If you can’t find an admission counselor to email then just send the email to the admission team.
