Mine was AMAZING! She dealt with my frantic questions, has written numerous rec letters, and never sugar coated anything. She seems genuinely happy to see me when I come in and is always willing to answer questions. Although she has about 650 students, she knows my name, my ECs, and what colleges I’m applying to by heart. I love Mrs. Morck!

I hate my guidance counselor to death, and she hates us. I hope she gets fired.

:)

I didn’t have one.

I’m really surprised that mine ended up being so good about almost everything because she has to deal with 500ish other students (most of whom won’t be attending college and just request numerous schedule changes to find the easiest possible schedule).

I really admire him because he has to deal with over 400 people trying to apply to college.

I talked to him once. Good times. He has an accent from an unidentifiable South American country. When I set up my junior conference, I suppose I’ll talk to him more.

Just got a new one this year…so far not impressed he seems very new the job but can’t wait for next year! The 11th and 12th graders get a different one than the underclassmen and she seems like a very awesome person! so yeah can’t wait

My freshman/sophomore guidance counselor is no longer at my school, and I’m hoping she got fired. She was terrible with my schedule, and even outright lied to me on several occasions.

My junior counselor seems nice. She seems to really care.

But really, my the person who guides me in school isn’t the Guidance Counselor, but my AP World History teacher. He knows the answer to just about anything I ask, reads my essays, regardless of what they’re for, and from what I hear, is amazing at college recommendations and application advice.

If he were president, the country would be a better place.

She’s decent… freshman year one was good.

This one tried to support me in getting more challenging courses for me.

Got me in Calc BC… and I thank her a lot for that.

My counselor is ridiculously uninformed. She only knows that “the Ivies are, um, good schools to shoot for,” that even with a 3.95 I have a “spectacular chance” at being accepted there (even though I have no intention of applying), and that it’s okay to drop an AP class for a PE one, just “for the exercise.”

CC is my guidance counselor.

My guidance counselor is awesome. She fixes my scheduling problems, answers my hundreds of questions, and reassures me that I am one of the most promising students on the campus. She also gives me advice on how to de-stress. Only thing is that I wish she could get me into H Spanish 2 next semester, but apparently I will have to wait until the end of the school year to skip a level.

My guidance counselor is okay. He’s not incompetent or biased like some other counselors at my school. (I’ve heard of counselors who hate AP classes and won’t let their kids take them, or the opposite, counselors who will force you into AP.) He’s not very helpful either though. Every time I’ve asked him about something like switching a class, he has told me to ask the vice principals.

My guidance counselor is really nice and has supported me through all of my challenges in high school. I go to a small high school, so she knows everyone pretty well. I do resort to CC a lot for accurate, realistic college admissions/summer program info, and I did not know about many opportunities until I found CC in junior year. But I don’t mind it because I would rather research this stuff myself and be more proactive in my goals and college choices.

All of the counselors at my school are a joke, including mine.

I have concluded that my old American history and physics teachers are better counselors than my actual one will be. Heck, I didn’t even bother to tell my counselor that I got into a college already!

I wish I found this website a year earlier. This is my guidance counselor.

Our school has some pretty bad counselors, but mine (the lead counselor) is pretty damn awesome. And that’s putting it lightly.

My guidance counselor is awesome.

My guidance counselor is the best. c:

My guidance counselor is pretty good. She got my friend into AP calc and AP stats in the same year as a sophomore even though two VPs were against it. My freshman year counselor blew though, she wouldn’t let me take stats and advised against AP US as well (for the next year)
