I'm taking Japanese 10A with Ito Hifumi (General Breadth requirement), DOC 1 with Laura Wimberley, The Great Tradition (Hild 10) (Humanities/Culture requirement), Precalculus, and New Cosmology (Seminar) with Carl Gisbson.

Anyone ever had any of these teachers. I'm hoping the replace Precal with Math 10 A when I take the math placement test...cuz I live in Texas.

What do you think about postponing chem till 2nd quarter cuz if I take it first quarter I'll prob get cworski or someone worse. Do you think I'll have a better chance of getting who I want if I take chem 6A during the winter?

It'd be awesome if people could comment on my schedule too.

(sorry to mooch off your thread imacrazyscientistbut I think the title is generic enough)

Math 20A Egger
MAE 9 C/C++ programming, Vlado
LISP 1D/ 1DX supposedly patricia zuker but I've heard it's taught all by TAs
Chemistry seminar - The Magical Role of Transition Metals in the Synthesis of New Drugs , O'connor, Joseph
SOCL 1A- Issac, Martin

Can I postpone Hum 1 till next year because according to the the course recommendations for ChemE, they want me to take 5 courses and I'd prefer to take 4 at a time but not be behind. (so instead of taking Hum 4 I'd be taking Hum 1 because I've already taken 2 of the 3-4-5 revelle hum sequence)

imacrazyscientist - your schedule sounds so awesome. let's trade XD. I think you should just sign up for chem 6a right now, if you don't like it, drop it and take it next quarter.. no harm done there. If you do, well, you'd be ahead :)

^ Seems fine the way it is. I'd keep it, it doesn't seem that difficult.

You can't really tell. Unless you know for 100% (Which I am unsure how you could) that your favorite professor is teaching, you never know what person will be teaching what class. Risky. No biology courses?

I'm not sure. To my knowledge, taking the HUM sequence out of order isn't really done. I guess it can be done, but whether or not it happens I don't know. Sometimes you refer back to previous HUM classes, so you can kind of shoot yourself in the foot there.

Oh, then that sounds fine. I'd start the Chem sequence now if I was you, so I would finish it this year. Then next year you can start the 140 sequence, and continue on with the biology classes.

Getting the chemistry out of the way is a good idea for majors that aren't chemistry. Chem classes seem to slow people down, and having to take those beside your major classes will be hard.

Math 10A Calculus
HILD 10 The Great Tradition
PYSC 1 Psychology
CHEM 6A General Chemistry 1
(need a seminar)

I'm currently undeclared because I want to pursue a career in dentistry. (which i'm going to have to talk to my counselor on exactly which classes to take.) Any recommendations or anyone that is also interested in the dental field have a better schedule I could take for my freshman year?
